Women Empowerment and Leadership Training - MFCCL Project

On 11, 19, and 22 December 2024, this training program was held with the active participation of Sundarbans' dependent Community women at Banisanta, Munshigonj, and Sutarkhali Union respectively. Upazila Women Affairs Officer of Dacope and Shyamnagor upazila facilitated part of the training sessions in which they tried to aware the participants of their Governmental rights as women. The officer also shared the specific Government benefits allocated for forest-dependent women and the process with requirements. Upazila Women Affairs Officer shared information on maternity allowance for women over 20 years old. The Women Affairs Officer of Shyamnagor Upazila shared information about a three-month tailoring training program designed for vulnerable women. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be eligible to apply for loans ranging from 20000 tk to 75000 tk for their business setup, with a 5% service charge from the Upazila Women Affairs Department. The participants also shared the issues faced within the community, their thoughts, and the current scenario of empowerment. Upazila Managers discussed women's leadership and livelihood options depending on their respective locations and society.
