An eventful & meaningful day with the Chief of Field Office- UNICEF, Barishal.

The 'Social and Behavior Change programme for maternal Children and Adolescents Wellbeing' project is going on in all the Upazilas of Bhola district. This project is funded by UNICEF and the Shushilan team is implementing this project in the field. On 11 February 2025, the chief of field office- UNICEF, Barishal Anwar Hossain paid a visit to Bhola. At 9:30 a.m, he associated with the Deputy Director- Sherina Akther and Project Coordinator- Rekha Yesmin went to Bhabanipur union of Daulatkhan Upazila and attended in a session with the adolescents dropped out from schooling. He discussed on child protection, life skill, child violence and the national helpline of 1098. At the end of the session, he along with the adolescents showed red card against all forms of violence. At noon, a meeting with the SBC- Bhola management team was held at the project office- Bhola. Some important agendas like maternity leave policy, partnership principles, coordination with the govt. officials were discussed. He highly praised about the coordination of SBC- Bhola team with all the stakeholders especially with the govt. officials. At 3:30 pm, he went to the Kachia union of Bhola Sadar union to attend in an intergenerational dialogue. Different types of participants like parents, adolescents, UP member, Imam, health assistance and so on were present there. Roles and responsibilities of family members towards an expecting and lactating mother, care during the pregnancy period, neonatal care, situation of health service in the community were discussed in the dialogue. He separately made a long conversation with the children on the necessity of swimming. At about 4:30 p.m, he returned to Barishal. He thanked the SBC- Bhola team and made a comment on the visiting register that the way the team is working is commendable. We believe that his visit and guidance will accelerate the implementation of the project activities.
